Gerber begins search for next spokesperson

The 2022 photo search, in which eager parents submit photos of their smiling babies for a chance to be Gerber’s “Spokesbaby,” was launched on Monday, according to a company press release.

The lucky winner, who will earn the title of “Spokesbaby” and “Chief Growing Officer,” will be featured on the baby food company’s social media channels and in its advertising campaigns throughout the year. And they will also receive a prize of $25,000.

“This year, Gerber is looking for a nominee who can help bring smiles and inspire joy to parents and peers,” Gerber said on their website. “An irresistible laugh is highly preferred, as well as an undeniably lovable personality.”

Children between the ages of 0 and 4 are eligible to participate in the competition. Parents and guardians can submit their child’s ‘smileiest’ photos and videos to Gerber’s portal by Thursday, April 14.

For the first time this year, Gerber will match the winner’s cash prize with a $25,000 donation to the March of Dimes nonprofit maternal and child health programs.

The 2022 winner will follow in the tiny footsteps of Zane Kahin, the 2021 Gerber baby. Over the past few years, the Gerber photo search has gone through several milestones. 2020 winner Magnolia was the first adopted Gerber baby, while 2019 Kairi was the first Gerber baby of Hmong descent.
