The Red Cross continues to help recover from typhoon “Maring”

The President and CEO of the PHILIPPINE Red Cross Society (PRC), Richard Gordon, has asked the PRC La Union Chapter to distribute much-needed livelihood aid to families affected by Typhoon “Maring” (international name: “Kompasu”) at the Luna Sports Center on March 17. .

The PRC provided livelihood assistance to a total of 500 disaster-affected households to help them restore and repair livelihoods that were destroyed or damaged by the typhoon. PRC continued to help families in La Union even five months after the typhoon, which hit the province in October 2021.

Two hundred and eighty-six households in the municipality of Luna and 214 in Bangar received livelihood assistance of 6,000 pesos. The distribution of the second installment of 4,000 P was to be scheduled in the following weeks.

Gordon said PRC was always ready to help.

Since the typhoon, PRC has provided assistance to at least 800 families in La Union in the form of cash, food, water kits, cooking sets, mosquito nets, blankets, mats, mattresses, hygiene kits and clothing.
